The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) is a federal program designed to help job seekers find work or obtain training and to help employers find job seekers. As the title suggests, it is an "investment" in our community to meet our local labor market needs and invest in the future.
The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) encompasses many facets of helping people find work and employers find potential employees. It is a flexible locally designed program designed to meet the diverse needs of our community. Because this is not a one-size fits all program, there are many options to help you achieve your goals. For those who want minimal assistance, there is self-guided assistance, small group assistance or more in-depth one-on-one assistance. We want to help you achieve your employment and career goals through a variety of options.
The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) helps with outplacement and transitional services for people who have or are in the process of losing their job. We can provide customized on-site services as it relates to financial seminars, job fairs, educational fairs, resume preparation and identification of transferable skills to help in the difficult time of transition. We have helped many local employers and unemployed workers move forward. The Youth program under WIA is designed to help young people develop the skills they need to get and keep good jobs. WIA youth programs offer a wide range of services to support them as they work toward these goals.
